Keith Elliott
Keith Elliott has worked on most national newspapers, and edited magazines on subjects as varied as computing, general practice, exports, independent healthcare and taxidermy. He was a weekly sports columnist for The Independent for 23 years, and is on the committee of the Sports Journalists' Association. He runs his own international sports magazine and is chairman of PMA Media Training.
Katy Elliott
Katy has more than 15 years experience working as an editor on leading business to business magazines, local, national and international newspapers. In the late 1990s Katy acted as a stringer for the BBC World Service in Uganda. Most recently she was editor of the Nepali Times in Kathmandu, and trained many of their journalists.
In London Katy specialised in the media industry, as deputy and features editor for Broadcast magazine at Emap. As a freelance in this industry she writes for the Guardian, Screen International, Televisual, Media and Marketing Europe, World Screen News and Channel 21.
Adrian MacLeod
Adrian MacLeod develops content-based websites for a number of commercial clients, as well as training new and existing journalists. He also writes for technical and business publications and websites, and is an expert in media law and ethics.
Richard Bird
Richard Bird is an Associate of the Institute of IT Training (TAP accredited) and is an Adobe Certified Expert and Instructor in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and InCopy. Richard has gained his 30-plus years' experience in the design industry. Starting at the London College of Printing followed by a long career as a magazine designer and art editor of many well-known titles.
Tom Mavro-Michaelis
Tom Mavro-Michaelis graduated with a BSc Hons in Electronic Imaging & Media Communication in 1996. He has worked as a graphic designer, video editor and DVD producer, and owns a video production and consultancy firm. Tom is a certified Apple trainer, and has trained hundreds of journalists and broadcasters across the UK.
Richard Ward
Richard has taught shorthand at several of the major universities in and around London (City, Westminster and Brunel), as well as at several newspapers, including the Financial Times and The Telegraph. He also taught at the Football Association and Bloomberg, as well as other corporate institutions. He is very experienced at teaching shorthand to journalism, as well as secretarial and administration, students.
