£1800 Sports Journalists' Association Bursary now available for Winter 2011. APPLY NOW!!! Places are allocated on a first-come basis to suitable applicants, and we interview throughout the year. It's therefore important that you apply as soon as possible, so you know whether or not you have a place. You don't have to be a graduate to apply. If you feel as though you're stuck in a career that's going nowhere, and have a burning desire to be a journalist, then we'd love to hear from you.
The PMA Postgraduate Diploma in Magazine Journalism celebrates its 23rd year in 2011.
"Superb. Best
career move I ever made.
Only wish I had done it about two years earlier.”
Quality is everything, which is why the spaces on our Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism are limited. The course is accredited by the PTC (Periodicals Training Council), part of which ensures that courses are not oversubscribed. Applying doesn't necessarily mean you automatically gain a place. We try to interview every applicant, and we offer places only to those we consider have got what it takes. We won't accept just anyone, you have to really convince us you want to be a journalist.
What does it cost?
The course fee is £2,800 plus VAT. If you're accepted onto the course, an additional £400 plus VAT deposit is required to secure your place, which can be held over for you for up to 12 months.
There are no hidden extras. You receive all the daily newspapers, free tea and coffee, and there are facilities such as a microwave and a fridge. You do not pay any extras for internet use, photocopying, telephones or fax.
How to apply
Simply download the application form as a pdf, fill it in, then post the completed form to us, with the 450-word interview (details of this are on the form). If you have any problems downloading or printing out the form, call the number below or email us, and we'll send a form to you by post or email.
To access the application forms, please enter your details in the boxes opposite and click 'go to forms'.
